I just saw one of the first note cards featuring Tylers work ... these note cards will be available the night of the July 10th celebration! Remember, all sales are donated to the Lockport Care-Net. I will post them to the page as soon as available. If you are unable to join us on July 10th, and you would like to purchase them, simply call or email me or the Lockport Care-Net. You can also pre-order to be sure they are available that night.

A special Thank you to All Those Who Contributed To The Cause and Construction of This Pavilion. Each of you had such a special place in Tylers heart. What an Honor and Tribute to Tyler, but even more, what a Loving and Caring Community to live in. May this pavilion benefit the Children and Families of the Gasport Community for Years to Come!

Tylers Eternal Life Celebration/ Fund Raiser July 10th 2009

July 10th, 2009 come celebrate with us Tyler's 2nd Eternal Birthday! We are planning a potluck picnic on this day, at the Royalton Ravine, from 5 - 9 pm, with special music in the park along with a Fund Raiser, for the Lockport Care-Net Pregnancy Center. Baby Donations can be dropped off that night, along with a bake sale and Chinese auction. Also, for the first time, you can purchase note cards, featuring Tyler's Artwork ... which ALL proceeds are directly donated to the Pregnancy Center. Check back soon for more details on how to order these note cards as production starts!

Tyler's Mission July 18,1998 - July 10, 2007

Tyler taught us so many life changing lessons ... he cherished every moment with his friends and family and his God! Tylers heart was filled with compassion for people, especially other children. One of his concerns was the orphans from the war in Iraq. He wanted so desparately to support these children in getting adopted or brought to a safe place until the war was over. He wanted to raise money to help these children.

Tyler also had such a unique and strong love for Jesus. At such a young age, he understood how to place his trust in his God ... his creator and protector; one of many lessons he taught his mother and dad. He calmed his fears with prayer, talking to his heavenly father and placing his trust in him. He trusted his God, just like he did with both Bruce and I, when he seeked comfort and protection from us as his parents.

Tyler was born with a heart defect, undergoing 2 surgeries, 1998 and 2005. His departure from this earth was sudden and fast, where he just simply collapsed in his daddy's arms in the hospital, waking in his Heavenly Father's arms ... no pain, no tears, no anticipation or fears, simply INSTANT Heaven.

Tyler was up to something here on earth in his short 8 years. He wanted to be a missionary or pastor when he "finished growing up". Although Tyler is not here on earth to carry out his mission, we can rest assure that God has bigger plans for him right now ... and perhaps it is up to us to carry out his mission.

Each of us in our daily walk can continue what Tyler wasn't able to finish here ... Won't you join us in keeping Tyler's mission alive? Perhaps by reaching out to other Children in need, becoming a missionary in your community or abroad, adopting or supporting the fatherless, Gods precious children, a gift from above. One can be very creative how to keep Tylers mission alive. That is the purpose of this blog, to encourage you to be apart of Gods great plan!

In Memoriam of Tyler Micah Flagler

Tyler Micah Flagler, age 8, of Gasport, enter the precious gates of heaven on Tuesday, July 10, 2007. Born July 18, 1998 in Buffalo, he was the son of Bruce and Linda Flagler.

Tyler attended Gasport Elementary School where he was a graduate of the 3rd grade. He was looking forward to moving on to 4th grade. He loved gardening, riding his bike, ATV and any outdoor sport. He attended Ridgewood Bible Church and was a member of the Christian Brigade which he loved dearly. He was the youngest family member and was very excited about his upcoming 9th birthday later this month. He was a very kind and loving boy who loved his family and his many friends.

He is survived by his mother and father, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Tyler is also survived by a nephew & niece, along with all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, on Friday from 6-9 pm and on Saturday from10-11 am at the Ridgewood Bible Church where the funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.

Memorials appreciated to: Ridgewood Bible Church Christian Service Brigade or to Gasport Elementary Heart Association Jumprope-a-thon C/O Gasport Elementary.

A mothers deepest sorrow ...

From the moment of conception, and pregnancy is confirmed we start to dream and make plans for this precious gift from God ... from the nursery, baby clothes, and all those exciting reminders that this child is going to be entrusted to us. With the age of technology, we watch our baby grow and the waistline too. Then the world shatteres ... and darkness comes. My story may be different from yours, but if you have ever experienced the deepest sorrow of losing a child, we share this pain and will forever grieve the loss of this precious child, precious gift from God. It is a pain that we can let take us to our darkest moments or choose HOPE for our troubled souls. As for me, I must choose HOPE. The only choice that gives a purpose and direction to carry on. I now know that God gave me Tyler to teach me true FAITH, a faith we don't physically see, but beleive anyways. He taught me TRUST, to trust God - that he is ALWAYS good, and to talk to him in my time of need, and to trust his words written in his BOOK, the Holy Bible .. Tyler has also given me a small glimpse of Heaven ... as incomprehensible as it is .... it is NOW so INVITING .. The Bible tells us " No mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the LORD" 1 Corinthians 2:9 . Before, I use to fear death, even though I knew the promise of eternity life in heaven, I still feared the actual death., the departure of all I loved.

My pain and sorrow has given me a more in depth search for Gods truth of heaven , his promises. I have CHOSEN to live in joyful anticipation of being reunited with my child forever and ever. This is one of the most important choices a mother will ever have to make ... It doesn't take away the sorrow of missing Tyler, however, each day that goes by, I know that I am one day closer to seeing him. I also feel the HOPE of his eternal happiness right now in heaven. As a mother, it is natural to worry about him missing me, does he feel the sorrow I feel, mostly i worry about this because I promised him I would not leave him alone ... especially those last days in the hospital. I know how much he trusted me, and how comforting my touch and promises were to him. But the Bible also says, "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. For the OLD order of things has passed away." It gives me such comfort to know that there is no more physical worries or tears for Tyler. He is in such a wonderful place, where the streets are made of pure gold, where there is no darkness.

A glimpse of Heaven ...

One of my deepest concerns, and I know it would be Tylers as well, is knowing that my entire family and friends are 100 % sure they are going to heaven too. If you are reading this today, and you are not sure that you will be spending your eternity there ... It is not by coincidence that you are on this blog, reading this ... God knows all things.

There is something so powerful when God calls a small child home, like Tyler ... perhaps because of their innocence and they haven't had much time to SIN. But the BIBLE tells us that all have sinned, and come short to the glory of God, and that the wages for SIN is death, a forever separation from heaven ... and that the ONLY way to GOD is through SALVATION ... which is a big word for Beleiving that God has overcomed Death from Sin ... by sending his own SON to earth ... in HUMAN form ... to be the sacrafice for MY Sins and YOURS. His Name is JESUS.

When Jesus was crucified for WHO HE was, He paid the price for my SINS and Yours on that CROSS. But the Good news is He overcame death by his resurrection.. Just like God said it would happen! I have to tell you, after losing my son, I can't imagine how painful it must have been for God to sacrafice his own son. And to think he did that for Tylers eternal life .. and mine ... and yours! Too think he loved us that much ... even those unborn! Would I be able to sacrafice like that?

My favorite verse, the first verse I remember from a child says, "For God so Loved the World, that he GAVE his only begotten SON, that who so ever believes in him (JESUS), they shall not perish (from this earth), but have eternal (forever and ever) LIFE! (In Heaven) , " John 3:16

I thank God for this PROMISE! Jesus himself also says:

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me, has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life" John 5:24

Now I can know that those who TRUST in Jesus, will be with him in heaven forever. This is what we call salvation.

How can you be sure you are going to heaven? ... you can start by simply praying or talking to your heavenly father, something like this

"Dear Jesus, I realize that I was born a sinner, and I am still a sinner ... I do beleive that you are the Son of God, that you sacraficed your life on the Cross for the punishment of MY sins and that you overcame death when you rose from the grave and that you live in Heaven with your Father. Please forgive my sins and I invite you to be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for this FREE gift of eternal life in Heaven. Please help me to trust you and seek your truth. Amen

Please remember, it is not the actual prayer that gives you eternal life, it is your confession and belief . Salvation can not be earned by doing good things, nor assumed that everyone will just go there. Without your love of Jesus ... this world is all you have. When your life comes to an end here ... there is no eternity in Heaven without this love and relationship through salvation.

Romans 10:9 (NIV):"That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." .....If you sincerely confessed with your mouth and believed with all your heart .... then you are SAVED!

Nothing can ever separate you from his love for you. You now have a special relationship with him. It is so important to nurture that relationship ... to get to know each other. You will find that by reading the Bible, you get to know him personally and your dependence on him will strengthen. Also, being around other beleivers is very important to encourage each other ... that is why it is so important to find a Church that teaches the Bible.
